KOEH 108.3 FM
Dipperville lies in the hill country of SE Minnesota
deep in the heart of frack sand country
and 10 miles from Hoopdeville.
The town lies in a hollow on the banks of Dipper Creek
and all external FM radio and TV signals pass overhead
unheard and unseen.
Twenty years ago,
the Dipperkripp family
came to the rescue
with a license to launch the town's first
and, to-date, only radio station,
KOEH 108.3FM.
The rest is history.
or is it?
"The rest is history" is what media people and
philosophers say but, we, the townsfolk of Dipperville say
history is for idle talk at the Dairy Queen.
We like to think that the proper phrase is...
the rest is imagination.
Uff da!

Harvey Smottle reports on a cataclysmic event that will forever change Dipperville. Then he plays us a recording of what happened on the previous evening at the rehearsal for the New Year Ball-drop. During the celebration, the Rapture ship predicted by Pastor deGoat, actually arrives overhead one day early. Those citizens of Dipperville of an excitable nature get excited and they all start lining up to board the ship under the direction of the Supreme Emperor's voice on the ship's PA system. Milli grabs the portable recording equipment and goes aboard to report from the other side. Harvey Smottle, intent on staying on the ground, pleads with Milli to stay. Never one to be left out, the Mayor goes aboard but first he demands a demonstration from the ship to prove it is indeed a Rapture ship. The demonstration of force that ensues, dislodges the New Year Ball which crashes down onto Main Street, rolls over the NRA Yahoos waiting at the bus stop as ordered by the Supreme Emperor and continues on toward KOEH where Harvey Smottle watches it approach, the numbers 2-0-1-4 growing ever larger with each revolution of the ball. Closer and closer, faster and faster. "Get out, Harv. GET FROM STATION!" Milli screams over the link from inside the ship. Closer and closer and closer and Harvey draws a breath to say a last few words and--

The rest is SILENCE.
